Roblox Game Acquisition Due Diligence Checklist
A focused checklist for reviewing ownership, performance information and transfer terms before an acquisition.
Reviewed
Check ownership and scope separately
Identify the universe, current owner, group where applicable and intended recipient. Match these identifiers across the listing and deal. Developer permissions alone do not prove ownership.
List included assets and exclusions. Ask for evidence of rights from contractors and third-party providers. Do not treat a DevDeal ownership check as a license audit.
Make evidence reproducible
For each supplied metric, record its source, unit, date range, capture date and relevant filters. Compare equivalent periods and ask about gaps or sudden changes. Request original exports when a cropped screenshot leaves important context unclear.
Review expenses and obligations alongside revenue. Redact unnecessary personal information and never request passwords, authentication cookies or secret API keys.

Check operational dependencies
Identify modules, packages, external services and permissions that may stop working for a new owner. Agree who will replace or reconfigure them. A successful ownership change does not prove every integration or asset will keep working.
Record a stop-or-proceed checklist
Use a written checklist before payment. An unanswered question is an open issue, not an automatic accusation of fraud.
- Owner and destination match the agreed transfer.
- Included assets and exclusions are documented.
- Evidence has comparable dates and explicit units.
- Recurring costs and dependencies are disclosed.
- Content rights have been reviewed by the parties.
- Unresolved discrepancies are recorded before proceeding.
Handle discrepancies through the actual workflow
Keep the problem and supporting evidence in the deal record and contact support. Payment state, ownership checks and recoverable funds affect the available actions. Do not assume a dispute automatically returns ownership or guarantees a full refund.
Roblox does not enforce outside experience sales. Review official restrictions and the existing DevDeal terms; this checklist is not a replacement for deciding contractual responsibilities.
USD fees and selling promotion
The seller’s promotion covers their first $1,000 of cumulative USD sales. Buying does not use your selling allowance. The seller’s remaining allowance makes that portion free of DevDeal fees for both participants. On the uncovered portion, the buyer pays 5% and the seller pays 5%. External payment costs apply separately, including during the promotion.
What verification does not cover
Checking Roblox ownership does not verify copyright, asset provenance or licenses for scripts, models, music or other content. Buyers and sellers must establish what is included and check the rights involved. DevDeal does not guarantee game quality, revenue, buyer satisfaction, reimbursement or protection from every chargeback.
